Environmental Toothbrush (Child)
Bamboo handle toothbrush - child size with soft bristles. (Pack of 1)
Biodegradable handle, recyclable packaging, BPA free, fairly traded.
Swap for: plastic toothbrush.
What makes it special?
There are 66 million people in the UK. If we all changed our toothbrushes every 3 months, that's 260+ million plastic toothbrushes going to landfill or incinerated every year. By switching to a bamboo toothbrush, you are reducing this plastic by extraordinary lengths.
Plus, they really aren't a tricky switch to make! No compromises here.
Usage: Use as you would a normal toothbrush, store in an environment where it can air dry (a holder for example). Once the bristles are worn, or after 3 months (recommended) - pull out the bristles and the handle can be composted. The Environmental Toothbrush company have road tested the brush and found it can last up to 8 months, but let's listen to our dentists eh.
Materials (from Environmental Toothbrush) : Handle - "The handle is made of MOSO bamboo, an environmentally sustainable timber. It is the fastest growing grass on earth, and incredibly abundant. Our bamboo is grown by local farmers (not plantation), cultivated for 3-5 years, and then harvested. It re-generates itself with minimal rain and without the need for harmful pesticides. In fact, by harvesting and using the bamboo, we help control unwanted spread into natural areas. The bamboo is heat treated, giving it a quality finish and life."
Bristles - "The bristles are made from a BPA free polymer, resistant to microbial growth during normal use, to ensure safety and durability. We have tried to find a biodegradable bristle but as of this time there is nothing available – apart from boars hair. No they are not Nylon 4 (as far as we know there are no bristles made from Nylon 4 on the market today)."
